JOB DESCRIPTION

Our clients, a leading Technology company in the UAE, currently hiring UAV professionals are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Manager with aerospace / automotive industry experience for the manufacturing of various components used in the UAV industry. This includes manufacturing of goods and parts from raw materials using such processes as, molding, extrusion, welding; sewing; pressing; machining, and painting. This may include the setting up of machinery and basic programming.

This role involves managing the Operations, Safety, and Quality teams, working closely with the Department Manager, and collaborating with Engineering, Assembly, and Maintenance teams. The Manufacturing Manager will be responsible for formulating and administering operational plans that drive growth, ensure business objectives are met, and contribute to achieving operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Lead the manufacturing process, including conceptual design, sizing, material selection, testing, and selecting tools and equipment for the required production process.
2. Responsible for developing an enthusiastic, motivated, and flexible team by building working relationships and ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to.
3. Manage the team on best practices and establish standard policies and procedures whilst also mentoring and leading teams. Implement and manage continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principles by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices, and processes.
4. Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice manufacturing vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
5. Effectively and efficiently manage the production of the required daily/weekly/monthly targets in line with product specifications, meeting quality and delivery expectations, minimizing costs where possible, and ensuring the required best working practices are always maintained.
6. Responsible for plant production, financial performance, meeting product specification requirements, and maintaining the orderly and productive operation of planned activities.
7. Communicate and liaise with other departmental managers regarding the throughput of stock to ensure production targets are met.
8. Identify and deploy the technical skill sets, resource levels, and systems to deliver projects, including the engagement of external resources as required.
9. Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department!

1. Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
2. Extensive plant-level experience with significant proven supervisory experience.
3. Technical understanding
4. Understanding of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Kaizen, lean manufacturing
5. Experience in managing Profit & Loss responsibilities for manufacturing
6. Understanding of manufacturing and procurement/supply chain
7. Understanding of TS16949, IOSH/NEBOSH, ISO 14001
8. Membership in an appropriate industry-related professional body would be advantageous
